좋은 한국패션에 대한 컨텐츠를 만들기 위해서 우리가 많은 시간 — 그리고 돈! — 막 쓰는 건데요. 그 건 큰 문제가 아니고 — 우리 온라인 잡지가 많은 시간과 돈을 투자할 만한 아이디어라고 생각하잖아요.

근데 우리 막 빌게이츠만큼 부자가 될 때까지, 막 BMW차에서 돌아다니고 천원짜리 종이를 화장지로 쓸 때까지, 우리 사이트의 비용이 있잖아요. 28일날까지 Flickr한테 돈을 납부해야 되는데 혹시…우리 사랑하는 독자들 중에 기부해주 수 있는 분이 계시겠죠? ㅋㅋ 만약에 있다면 — 스폰서가 되고 싶고 — FLickr의 납부 페이지로 가시고 “Buy a Flickr gift account”으로 해주는 거다. 헤헤.

물론 우리가 할 수 있는데 — 큰 비용이 아니잖아요 — 그래도 우리가 신경을 안 써도 되는 비용이 하나라도 있으면 좋죠. 아마 한국인 독자들이 FLickr를 잘 모를 텐데 이런 식으로 미국의 인터넷에 이런 ‘선물’로 도와줄 수 있게 해주는 방법이 있답니다. 아마 낯선 인터넷 문화가 이겠지만 그래도 이 글을 번역해주고 싶었네요.

만약에 Flickr로 한 명리라도 지원해주면 밑에 나오는 사진들이 나오는 걸 지원하는 거잖아요. 우리 사진, UCC, 모든 컨텐츠가 멋지잖아요? 그쵸? 맞죠?! ㅋㅋ

We’re spending a lot of time — and moolah! — trying to get good content about Korean fashion out there. Costs are costs, and we don’t mind the outlay.

But until we become the next big thang, and are all bling bling in our drop-top Beemers and zoned out from all-night coke parties, we’re trying to keep costs down. To that end, one thing has come up that one of you out there might be able to help out with. Flickr — the company that hosts almost all the pictures on our site — allows others to buy their Pro accounts for friends.

If you’re a Flickr user (making an account is free), you just sign in and go to the link above. Then click “Buy Now” and instead of upgrading yourself, there’s an option to buy a gift account for someone else. Wouldn’t that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Hehe.

This is an announcement for March photography classes!

If you are interested in getting your photography skills together once-and-for-all, or want to get the most out of your camera while living overseas (when you should be taking the most pictures!), this class is for you.

After downloading a detailed syllabus of the class (in MS Word format), if you intend to register for the class, after reading the syllabus, write an email with “photo class” in the subject line, your phone number, and include any questions you have. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PAY ATTENTION TO THE SUBJECT LINE AND INCLUDE A PHONE NUMBER in your email. It helps make sure no one falls through the cracks when I’m organizing classes.

The class we are gathering right now is for Saturday from 12-3 PM for 4 weeks. So, if you sign up for Saturdays, plan to come for 4 consecutive Saturdays during February. If there is enough interest in weekday evening classes, we can schedule one as well.

Our book launching party was a great success! A lot of people came out, and a lot of people bought books — but the most important thing for us was the extremely positive reaction people seem to be having with our work. One of the most common reactions is: “Wow! The book is MUCH bigger than I thought it would be!” Well, in the case of the photographer-wanting-to-make-a-photo-book world, bigger IS better. Really — what more is there to say?

우리 북런칭 파티가 큰 성공였어요! 많은 사람들이 왔었고 많은 책도 팔았는데 더 중요한 건 왔었던 손님들이 우리 사진집을 보니까 반응이 좋은 것같더라고요. 그리고 많이 들었던 말은 ‘책은 생각보다 크네요!’라고요. 크기는 크죠?! ㅋㅋㅋ
