멀티매거진 for your fashion fetish…
Girls here are holding on to the summer until the last possible, reasonable moment to be able to wear those summer styles.
I say, as long as it looks and feels good – and it’s not snowing or your toes are turning blue – why not?
Girls are still clinging onto summer styles as the weather briefly warms up enough for a few last nights out with miniskirts and strappy sandals. I thought this shot evoked the true feeling of Hongdae at night, as the air is filled with youthful energy, people on the go, and suggestive moves in the darkness.
I predict that this will be the last weekend of true summer fashion, ladies and gents – enjoy it while you can and hold onto your warm memories!
This shot was kind of a throwaway, but the haphazard framing ended up making for an interesting shot? What do ya’ll think?
Caught this girl on the run to catch a cab. She was quite attractive, which caught my eye, along with her fierce fashion sense. I got lucky in catching her rushed, yet feminine look. Very Sex in the City.
Those shoes of hers are working overtime (although I’d have loved to see a simple ankle strap with that style. But her shoes match her look – they look like they’re made of silk and expensive – they are definitely department store-bought, most likely something originally in the 150,000–200,000 won range, but on sale for 79,000 won.
I doubt she wore them to work, but she probably came to that part of town to meet friends and shop. Maybe she was on her way for “a date at 8?” Who knows? But they weren’t the 29,000 fake leather jobs you get at the Idae corner store.
And chalk up another artsy-fartsy picture attempt on my part. Love this picture! Work it, girl!
I feel the team spirit, alright.
This was a rare treat, like an aligning of the planets. I was walking down the stairs, minding my own business, when I saw these “narrator-models” coming off the job and going down the stairs before me. It was a dirty job, but someone had to do it.
So I got this shot for you all on the site – I was seriously thinking that if taking this shot wasn’t my solemn duty as Feet Man Seoul, I don’t know what would be – and ran away, wanting to giggle and cheer like a schoolboy.
I guess the girls’ “uniforms” were the denim miniskirts and 30,000 won high heel sandals that every other Korean girl in the country was wearing this summer. Still, it’s better than the silly shorts and white sock thingies. As always, remember to click on the picture to blow it up. You’ll be glad you did. And I’m starting to be sad that the summer’s over. ㅠㅠ
Was walking across the sidewalk when I decided to go for a shot I have started to notice from my random street shooting – illuminations by carlight. I walked next to a young lady in a frilly dress to try to catch an interesting shot, which I was lucky enough to snag and present you you below.
By the way, I hate how JPEG compression strips the hell out of the colors. They’re so washed out by the time they get up to you guys on the site. The effect’s nice, right? Anyway, I like the fact that the one point in focus in the frame is her foot, but you get so many other cool details, such as the gravel of the ground or the patterns in her skirt. Cool stuff.
A quick quiz – I’m right-handed, so what does that tell you about which shot came first? Are these two pictures in order or are they not?
Please direct your answers to the comments section. This is an easy one, right?
Summer’s light (and unbearable heat, thank God) is fading and I’m fast snapping away to build up some storage for the long fall and winter. This is not to say that there won’t be lots of girls wearing skirts even on the coldest day of winter, but even the shortest skirt doesn’t feel as revealing as a girl in a similar summer one, but with nothing on below but barely a pair of shoes. The fun part of the Korean summer is that, except for the skirt, the only thing going on under there is panties and a pair of naughty slippers.
Here’s a nice swatch of blue, white, and gray to make your day. Notice the “bearpaw” effect that becomes more visible when a girl with pretty much a straight rack of toes all the same length across (more common in Korean women than other ethnic groups) chooses a shoe designed for a Western foot, which tends to be more pointed or tapered, accommodating toes with greater variations in length. Too often, a “bearpaw” girl chooses a shoe because it’s pretty, but not necessarily on her; when she steps into a more tapered shoe, you get uncomfortable overhang or even the “little piggie” effect, with a little toe sticking out from between the straps of a summer sandal. Since she’s in a pair of mules with vamps, she didn’t have that problem…well, that day.
Bad form, bad form. But still, some girls don’t seem to care, just as certain people wear stripes and plaid together. Whatcha gonna do? Enjoy these couple weeks of temperate weather and the last of the miniskirts.
But don’t despair – FMS is gearing up to give you summer-like warmth even on even the coldest winter night!
(P.S. – Is this girl “thick” enough for ya? She was quite shapely, I seem to remember.)
