A really unique chopper spotted in Hongdae.

새벽에 홍대에 가면 어더운 곳에서 사랑을 표현하는 커플들이 많이 숨어있는 거예요.

If one goes to Hongdae in the dead of night, one might see many couples tucked away in dark places, busy expressing their love.

기술적으로 잘 못 찍은 사진들이지만 왠지 그래도 마음에 드네요. 사실 조리개나 셔터속도 때문에 이 어두운 상태에서 사진이 안나온 줄 알면서도 그래도 셔터버튼을 찍게 되곤 하네요. 흥미스러워서. 본능이 됐나봐요. 근데 웃기는 건 가끔씩 내가 상상했던 사진보다 훨씬 더 느낌있게 잘 나오네요. 그 순간의 느낌, 그 공간의 분위기, 그때의 느낌을 잘 표현하게 된 경우 가끔 있어요. 그래서 찍은 사진들을 삭제 안해요. 옛날 필름처럼 찍은 사진은 영원히 그 순간을 기록하고 잘 보관하는 것처럼 생각해요. 왜냐하면 어떤 사진을 나중에 보면 다른 눈으로 볼 수도 있고 그리고 아떤 사진을 계속 바라보면 새롭게 발견하는 것도 있으니까요. 현실을 그렇게 잡았는데 삭제하면 아깝고 아쉬운 것같아요. 다시 돌아갈 수 없고 그 순간을 복구할 수도 없잖아요.

I like these pictures, even though they were technically mistakes, or rather, impossible pictures to take. Yet, for some reason, I still push the shutter button when I see something interesting, even if it’s way to dark or the conditions impossible to make a good picture of. It’s just instinct. And sometimes, to my surprise, I manage to capture the spirit of the picture in a far more interesting way than I had originally imagined it. It’s why I don’t delete any pictures I take, always saving them all. I keep them, as if they were film. Once you’ve captured and kept an instant, it seems like a shame not to keep it forever — `because you can never get it back. And sometimes, the more you look, the more you realize is there.

어떤 여름의 늦은 밤에 홍대의 뒷골목에서 클럽에 간 애들이 잠깐 밖에서 쉬고 바람을 좀 맞을 겸, ‘헌팅’도 하러 나와있습니다.
