어제 이 언니를 우연히 알게 됐는데 너무 이쁘고 바로 우리 site model이 됐으면 했어요. 그리고 관심이 없다고 하셨는데 상황 어색해서 (근무중이라서) 잘 설명을 못드렸네요. URL을 가르쳐드렸으니까 만약에 오시고 사진을 보시고 재밌다고 하시면 생각을 다시 좀 해보시겠죠? ㅋㅋ 우리 site가 인제 3명을 모였는데 (목적은 5-6명) 4번째 되셨으면 하네요, 언니!

특별히 노력 안해도 벌써 부분 모델아니세요? ㅋㅋ 좀 해보세요, 언니! 진짜 - 우리 이 모양/사이즈 찾고 있었는데…앞 발가락 line이 조금 직선하고 사이즈는 235이시죠? 아마 그렇겠죠? ㅋㅋ

Found the perfect candidate for being a model for our group yesterday, but it was an awkward pitch because she was working. She’s actually just the shape and size we’re looking for, but I couldn’t do much more than leave the site’s URL and hope she came in to take a look. If she does, I hope that seeing herself up in lights might make her change her mind!

This “photo story” happened sort of accidentally. I was planning just another “Audition” for a new model, whom I met by chance while walking past a coffee shop window. As is always the case, models are far more striking in person, and I always fear that a lot will be “lost in translation” over to the two-dimensional plane of the picture.

It’s why they say “you gain 10 pounds on television” or some folks claim that they “take bad pictures.” It’s because you have to know what you’re doing when you present yourself in such a small slice of reality, from the set and narrow angle of a camera lens.

And when it comes to scouting for foot models, let me tell you that it’s hard to make that part of the body look attractive, especially at such close range. That’s why, believe you me, the few people whose feet and legs look decent on camera are that much more attractive in real life. And in “Goldie’s” case, this is doubly true.

I had convinced her to let me take sample pictures with her just sitting in her seat, which seemed the least awkward thing to do, since she’d have to get up, leave her stuff, and pose for pictures of her feet in front of the main glass doors of this very busy coffee shop. So I just let the camera roll on motor drive while she “disrobed” her feet in front of me, took a few flash pics in the middle, then let the motor drive roll while she got her feet dressed again.

To my surprise, the results were very feminine, very sexy, very 멋있어.

I know you might not think, “Wow! Whoa! Hot!” from looking at the smaller version of the picture above, but click on the picture and see if you don’t think “Goldie’s” a prime candidate for a model on this site. She obviously hasn’t received a pedicure in at least the last three months (or any time in her recent memory), yet there isn’t a mark or blemish on her skin. No corns, bruise marks or discoloration from the straps of bad shoes, bruises on her toes or band-aids on her ankle, dead skin, bad cuticles – anything – other than perfectly smooth skin.

I really hope she agrees to come on with us and become one of our premiere models as our site starts to take shape and fulfill its master plan, which really does exist, I swear.

We’ve been looking for different types of talent, found in various styles and shapes of feet and legs. What you’ve seen so far in terms of the models who’ve been on the site so far – both as official “models” and the “auditions” we’ve been having – is the effort to reflect several different kinds of look from the very beginning: clean and cute with short toes, sexier long and skinny feet, plump and petite peds, and even feet that are just outright “hot.”

Now, I think “Goldie” provides a sophisticated set that are not initially striking, but are unusual in that they can stand the close attention of the camera and actually look better the closer you look. Add to that a natural femininity and grace that one would expect in a posed photo shoot – but which found expression during a single attempt without any particular effort – and I tend to think that this is a woman with a lot of potential and who captures just the kind of mood I was hoping to be able to find when I started this little project.

I feel lucky that our paths crossed, and it’s the hope of finding models like her (as a complement to the ones we’ve found already) that really makes me believe that we can gather the models we need to really get this project developinng into what it should be.

Again, I hope that – as members of our community who I want to help define the tone and direction of this site – you’ll start to comment and really get your reactions and ideas out there and make this project more interactive from now, the beginning. I am veritably waiting on the edge of my seat, finger hovering above the mouse, for some good suggestions to turn into reality, so c’mon, people – put me to work!

And to my readers, I want to assure you that whatever you think about the site in its present state, there is so much more in the works, so many more ideas that haven’t even been tried out yet, so many positive suggestions and changes that will come from our growing list of partners – that it’s really safe to describe us now as sitting atop the very teeny, tiny tip of the iceberg. I’m really looking forward to taking this site to a new level and making it something that has never been seen yet. We’re not just another shoe site, nor are we an online shopping mall; we’re also not a “foot fetish site”, even if it does focus on feet and shoes. Anyway, don’t just take my word for it – watch as this site develops, help guide that development, and judge for yourself.

Boys! Don’t be afraid of thinking shoe fashion is just fabulous! It doesn’t make you gay, or a pervert, or a “fetishist.” Girls put a lot of time, effort, and money into appearance and fashion below the skirtline. What’s the harm in appreciating, right?

And girls – don’t be shy! Come talk shoes, compare notes, keep up with the new styles, find out what the other girls are wearing and where to get the really cool stuff.

Whether “Goldie” comes on board with us or not, the impromptu “shoot” was certainly very inspiring. Whatever she decides, she has helped definitely led me to think more concretely about a great many things, about which you will all learn more in the days to come.

I was out scouting for more photo talent, getting reactions that run the gamut from friendly reception to the total shutdown in the process. After getting a couple of lukewarm leads and pictures that I’ll spare you from having to see here, I was walking by a coffee shop window when I spied the lovliest sight and very likely candidate for our site. The last days of summer have already started to yield to the colder fashions of fall, so there are mainly two types of women holding out from the summer: either the girls with something to brag about, or the girls who pick up seasonal and fashion changes kind of late.

“Goldie” was certainly a woman of the former type. First of all, she’s strikingly attractive – in the words from another decade – “fine” as hell. She also has just the particular kind of foot style that will complement the other styles we’re trying to gather in the model talent on this site, as you’ll see when you login, as the full photo set is available only to registered users (registering is free and your personal information isn’t displayed).

My God, dear reader – what are you waiting for? I am going to request to meet “Goldie” again, so I hope that you readers will give a lot of support as comments such that I’ll be able to appeal to those powerfully human emotions that might convince her to join our project. To distort an old phrase:

“Flattery will get you everywhere.”

Sugar’s a new model, a connection of a connection, who has agreed to come on. I didn’t get to take a “FMS-style” shot of her, so this is just a crop of something casual she sent in. But she’s excited, is eage to be photographed, and is into shoes, feet, and all that stuff. If you think her feet are well-kept, you should see her fingers – wow!

She’s very bubbly and funny, and has an assured sexiness about her that is really endearing. You’ll see a lot of that expressed in her prose and poses.

Expect to be seeing – and reading – a lot of her very soon!

Here’s a quick one from my recent wanderings. I’ve been recruiting hard for this site and have six “Auditions” shots lines up, although I’m not going to present them all. This is one young lady who I’m going to make sure to offer a position as a model, because she has absolutely perfect feet (she needs to take care to watch for scars), has legs that are long and thin (by Korean standards, very attractive), and will generally make any shoe look good.
I spied her after my first day of actually shooting solely for soles, having walked around all day and talked to several potential models for the site. It was already evening, I was tired, and I was walking over to the taxis when I saw her. The perfect candidate. The one. Those legs were long as sin and didn’t stop working, even down to the toes.

I took a few cover shots before going over and asking her if she was interested in being a model for the site and if I could take a few test shots. She readily agreed.

I know these shots aren’t too artistic, but wouldn’t you agree that she has great potential for the site? I think she’ll make a great model – she’d make even a pair of combat boots look sexy.

I had a female reader giving me advice about what this site’s true “매력” (charm) is. I think it’s posts such as these, in which I spy a lovely lass whom I first photograph, then agrees to pose for a few shots as I take a look at them and decide whether or not to then approach them to officially model for us.

The picture below is what my female friend says truly defines the site – this is the one thing that you won’t find anywhere on the web, it’s real and in the Korean street, and is innocent but yet kind of wild, since what I’m asking these girls to do is a little unusual and unbelievable.

Even thought this young lady needs to buy shoes that won’t injure her and take better care of her feet – lest she end up permanently hurting herself when she gets older – she’s got a beautiful spread and a lot of potential to make a pair of shoes look sexy, with a healthy shape that is as feminine as it is seems powerful.

Girl – you is fierce!

This was a day to truly be remembered, as I got to meet an interesting girl and very likely model for the site, if she agrees. This post will need to be full of some feedback, if you please.

I had gotten on the bus and got crammed into the back when this beautiful young lady came to sit right in the middle of the high back seat, with her feet and legs all in my face. The temptation to shoot was too high to resist, and I figured that the sound of the bus could maybe cover the sound of the camera. It was quieter than I thought back there, but I took the risk anyway. To my surprise, I got the distinct impression that not only did this girl know I was taking her picture, but she was kind of liking it.  I’ll have to remember to ask her next time I meet her, which will likely be this week. In the back of that bus, though, I had the feeling she was kind of posing a bit for the camera, as she was kind of preening and seemingly moving her feet closer to the camera. I don’t know if I was just imagining this, but it certainly seemed so. She noticed I was sort of staring at her at times, and we made friendly eye contact once, which also added to my suspicions that she was friendly to this guy snapping pics of her, since none of it included her face. Now, I could be imagining all this – really, I could – so this is one of the first things to talk about upon meeting and trying to convince her to come onto the site. I am looking forward to that conversation as an icebreaker and something to report back to you all.

I had decided to get off the bus where she did, wherever that took me, but luckily, we were going to the same place, as were half the passengers, so it was no big surprise. So when she got off the bus, I was happy to note that she was actually traveling with the other passenger on the bus whom I had already noticed as being worthy FMS material. I also happened to be out and about with a female friend who knows about me and the site, so I decided to make the pitch right after getting off the bus. It was a group of four ladies, so it was a bit intimidating to explain and ask permission to photograph the footsies, but my new “friend” was quite obliging, although her counterpart seemed a bit more reluctant. The bus girl is a pretty tightly-put together woman, most likely in her late 20’s, as were her friends. I was eager to find someone who looks like a similar size to Rachel, but a little older and more sophisticated. Here were two candidates for the position, right here, together. Both were fashionable women, and both seemed to take care of themselves down to the details, even though I think the pedicures are either several weeks out-of-date or they simply do them themselves.

The girls were pretty obliging and got right down to business, being really cooperative along the way. Great job, girls!

Right now, I’m working on linking together the modeling with services, especially for smaller designer shoe stores and pedicure places. I talked to an owner today who seemed interested in throwing a few shoes our models’ way in exchange for advertising, linkage, and a web page – as well as anything else I can do to show appreciation to a potential sponsor.

I think this model will need a touch-up job and some good, continuous care, but will look quite good in shoes, as I think for her friend as well. What do you readers think? I was doing running some errands when I ran across one of the most attractive “office girls” I’ve ever met, who was amazingly friendly to me. At that particular point in the day, the place seemed to have a lull in customers, so I felt like it would be silly of me to miss the opportunity to ask about being a model and posing. She promptly and eagerly complied.

She has an interesting set of legs and feet, I’d say. I myself don’t prefer the pointy look, but the longer I look, the more I realize that her feet are pretty cute and have their own personality. And she is such a diamond-in-the-rough; with even a single pedicure and a little attention to some good foot fashion, don’t you think she could work really well as model here?

The likelihood of that happening is kind of iffy unless I am able to sit down with her on the site and show her just how positive a reaction she has gotten on these posts, I think. It seemed to make a big difference to our first model, Rachel, who got a real kick out of even having gotten two comments on her pictures. Stroke that ego, people! And any comments/participation from girls would also help things along a lot.
