Chirurgie la petite – 쁘띠성형

“Petit restorative treatment”, also known as “filler restorative treatment”, is a relatively easier and convenient procedure that has been popular amongst many Korean women in recent years. The preferred non-surgical cosmetic injectors are Restylane and Radiesse, both known to be less damaging due to their make-up of natural components.

쁘띠성형, 또는 필러성형으로 알려진 시술은 최근 몇년 동안 국내에서 꾸준한 사랑을 받고 있다.  이러한 비수술적 시술은 주로 레스틸렌이나 래이디어스라는 비교적 안전한 성분으로 인체에 해가 덜 한다고 한다.  

The procedure is quick and non-permanent, contributing to its appeal.  The procedures are usually:   

• Breast augmentation
• “Fillings” for age-related facial creases such as wrinkles
• “Fillings” for a fuller, more youthful appearance (fuller lips, lower eyelids, cheeks, forehead)
• Elevation of the bridge of the nose

시술은 빠르고 영구적이지 않기 때문에 인기를 누리고 있다. 시술은 주로 가슴, 나이로 인한 얼굴의 잔 주름, 이목구비를 더욱 뚜렸하게 할 수 있도록 눈, 코, 볼, 이마와 같은 부분에다가도 “쁘띠” 시술을 받을 수 있다.

According to Heraldbiz.com, PRP procedure separates blood valves and growth genes, which stimulates skin growth. Apparently doctors recommend this filler—what better way to revitalize your look than with something “natural” of your own?

 네이버에서 자료를 구하면서 더욱 놀라운 사실을 발견했다. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) 라는 시술인데 쁘띠성형의 기능이랑 똑같지만 자혈 필러라는 것이다. 자료에 따르면 혈액의 혈소판과 성장인자를 분리해 피부재생에 도움이 되며 성형외과 전문의들이 추천한다고 한다.  

One of preferences that some Koreans have, and who go through this procedure that I find rather fascinating is the “full” lower eyelid look.  Since many Koreans like a fuller, shapely face versus a flat face, and prefer prominent facial features over smaller features, I suppose plumping up your lower eyelids can help emphasize the eyes. There is even a name for it that is rather fitting, in my opinion; 애교살, is the fold right below your eyelid. However, I find it rather overrated. Frankly, for someone who did not know what 애교살 was until a few years ago, this was definitely an interesting find.

쁘띠성형을 하는 한국 여성들 중에 통통한 애교살을 선호하는 것이 개인적으로는 신기하다. 그러나 많은 한국인들은 굴곡이 없는 얼굴보다는 입체적인 얼굴, 작은 것보다는 뚜렸한 이복구비를 선호하기 때문에 눈을 강조해 줄 수 있는 애교살 시술을 받는 것 같다. 솔직히 몇 년 전까지만 해도 애교살이 무엇인지 몰랐던 나에겐 놀라울 따름이다.
