안녕! 헬로! 곤니찌와! 글쎄, 내 소개를 하기엔 너무 진부한 것 같아서 그냥 앞으로 내가 기록하는 다이어리를 통해 서로 알아갔음 좋겠어. FMS와 함께하면서 더 재미있는 하루하루를 보낼 수 있을 것 같은 예감! 만나서 반가워 다들~

Hi! Hello! Konnichiwa! Well, since I think this self-introduction might be corny, I’m just going to let you get to know me directly through my dairy. I have the feeling we’re going to spend a lot of quality time together here at FMS. It’s good to meet you all!

날씨가 쨍쨍하진 않았지만, 곧 비가 오고 나면 벚꽃이 다 떨어질 것이라는 소식을 듣고 여의도에 갔었지. 편안한 복장으로 그리고 많이 걸을 것을 대비하여 요즘 거의 매일 신는 내 사랑 호피플랫슈즈와 함께 폴라로이드를 메고~ 룰루랄라. 단, 내년 꽃구경갈땐 절대 파란계열 옷을 입지 않을 거야. 꽃과 함께 사진을 찍으니 shit!

Even though the weather isn’t sparkling, we went to see the cherry blossoms bloom in Yeouido. These days, I like to wear comfortable clothes to go walking in the Hopi flat shoes I wear nearly every day, while taking along a Polaroid camera hanging from around my neck. Oh, yeah. Still, next year when I go to look at the cherry blossoms, I won’t be wearing any blue clothes. The pictures look like crap against the flowers.

아침 9시에 등교해서 밤 9시에 수업이 끝나는 살인적인 월요일, 책과 준비물은 또 어찌나 많은지 매주 월요일은 캠핑갈때나 사용하던 커다란 나의 핑크가방을 메고 간다. 우울한데 기분이나 내볼까 하고 핑크로 몸을 휙휙 감싼 날. 다 오래된 친구들이고, 안에 입은 바니티셔츠는 저 날 처음 입은듯. 일본 Zara에서 데려온 친구.

On killer Mondays like this, when classes starts from 9 in the morning and go until 9 at night, I pack all the many books and things I need in a huge pink bag that I hoist on my back, which really should be used for camping. It was kind of a depressing day, so I decided to wrap my body in pink. I brought all my old friends, including the Bugs Bunny t-shirt that I think was the first time wearing. I brought him from Zara, in Japan.

더울거라고 예상했지만 곧 여름이 오면 더 이상 입지 못할거란 생각에 잠시 슬픔에 잠김. 그래서 결국 내가 좋아하는 초록이 원피스랑 초록이 스타킹을 신었다. 오늘 친구도 초록 드레스를 입고와서 기분좋아 같이 사진한컷! 쓰고있는 Homburg는 최근 나의 favorite! 동대문 마네킹꺼 뺏아온거 ㅋㅋ

It’s just a hunch, but I get the feeling that I won’t be able to wear that again this summer. So I put on a green mini-dress that I like, along with green stockings. My friend also wore a green dress that day, causing up to be happy enough to take a picture together. The bowler I’m wearing is my favorite. I stole it from a Dongdaemun mannequin. Hehehe.

비가 오는 날은 정말 싫다. 게다가 아침은 멀쩡하다가 갑자기 오후쯤 내리기 시작하는 비는 더더욱 싫고 귀찮다. 그래서 3년인가 4년전에 구입한 우비. 아주 유용하게 입힌다 하하하. 그리고 우연히 들어간 가게에서 마음에 들어 사버린 썬글라스. 그렇다. 난 충동구매 여왕이다.

I really hate rainy days. I hate even more those days that begin all perfect but then the rain starts to come in the late afternoon. So this is a raincoat I got 3 or 4 years ago. It’s really worth it. Also, some sunglasses I bought on a whim in some store. I am indeed the queen of impulse buying.

피로누적으로 미친듯이 코알라처럼 늘어지게 자고 일어났다. 샤워 후 머리정돈이 귀찮을땐 친구가 오래전에 떠준 털모자를 쓰고~ 내가 아주 좋아하는 친구다. 요즘 나를 기쁘게 해주는 것은 형광색이다. 티셔츠는 몇 년전 호주 flea market에서 산 것. 메시지가 아~주 맘에 든다. 하하하 담에 기회가 되면 내 친구 Daniel의 티셔츠들을 소개 해주고 싶다 ㅋㅋ 독일에 들리면 꼭 사진을 찍어 소개해주겠다.

I just woke up after having slept spread out like a koala bear. When I don’t want to have to worry about arranging my hair after a shower, I always wear my wool cap. It’s one of my best friends. And this is one of my favorite colors these days: neon. I got the shirt a few years ago in an Australian flea market, and I really like the message. Hehehe. Next time I get the chance, I want to introduce you to my friend Daniel’s t-shirts. If I drop by Germany, I’ll make sure to take lots of pictures.

보시다시피 나라는 사람의 특별한 스타일은 없다. 나한테 어울리는 옷을 좋아하고, 평범하지만 결코 방종하지 않는 것이 내 스타일이라고나 할까. 요즘은 언덕이 높은 학교를 왔다갔다하느라 최대한 편안하게 입으려고 노력하다 보니 조금 더 캐주얼룩이 친숙해 지는 것 같다. FMS랑 그리고 나랑 앞으로 재미있게 즐겨보자!

As you can see, I don’t really have a special style. You might say that I just like clothes that fit me, nothing too loose. Because these days, I attend a school atop a high hill, and after trying to wear comfortable clothes, I’ve gotten used to a more casual look. In the future, join me here on FMS for more fashion fun!

The trend these days is the bob cut,

So, from brown hair to black I went.

I can say I miss it a little, but that it’s also refreshing? Hehe.

I’d had that long hair for 3 years, so I was a bit attached to it,

but as my hair was being cut, the feeling was crisp and refreshing!

난 학생때부터 옷의 관한일을 많이 해왔어. 옷가게는 물론 동대문 도매시장에서까지 일을 하면서 옷을 하루종일 보고살았지, 그러면서 옷을 보는 안목도 트이게 되고 나만의 style 을 찾을수 있게 되었다고 할까? 난 남들이랑 똑같은 건 시러해. 평범한 건 더더욱 싫어하고 인생 한번뿐인데 남들이랑 똑같이 살면 너무 지루하잔아. ㅜㅜ

My name is Miss Seonja and I live in a little country called Korea. I’ll tell you that much to start with. Hehehe. I am just in love with and fascinated by clothes and am living life as a fashion design major. I’ve been really lucky to have become involved with FeetManSeoul.com through Seoul Fashion Week. Now, I can become involved in fashion-related stuff directly! How lucky is it that I’ve gotten the chance to make some good connections and get some good experience in fashion?

Ever since I was a student, I’ve done a lot work related to fashion. By working at a clothing store in the Dongdaemun wholesale market, of course I was surrounded by clothes all day long. Perhaps I can say that this was how I developed a keener sense of fashion while discovering my own particular style. I definitely don’t want what everyone else has, and I want even less to be merely ordinary. It’s said that “you only live once,” so wouldn’t it be boring to be the same as everyone else?

패션 패션을통해 난 나를 표현하고, 하루하루 내 자신을 변화시키지. 단순히 옷만 좋아하는 게아니라 가방, 신발, 악세서리등 이모든걸 난 다 좋아하고 아껴.

내사진들을 보면서 이젠 내가 어떤 style인지 어떤 style을 즐겨입는지 알게 될거야. 난 그날그날 내기분. 내가 가는곳, 그날의 날씨등을 보면서 어쩔때는 funky, 어쩔때는 sexy, 또어쩔 때는 spicy등, ‘freestyle’로 가지.

I express myself with a passion for fashion, and it changes me every day. It’s not just that I only like clothes, but also am into bags, shoes, accessories, and things like that are what I like and cherish.

By looking at my pictures, you can get a sense of what kind of styles I enjoy. What my mood was that day, where I go, what the weather was like, etc. Sometimes I dress funky, sometimes sexy, sometimes spicy and also just freestyle it.

Now, it’s already become fall! It was cold enough to give me goosebumps today. Since it’s been so long since I’ve worn long boots, it feels as though they’re new.

The top picture is with me and a coworker from Dunkin Donuts (where I had a part-time job) chatting…and taking pictures!

Is my style natural today? Or lame? I should have tried to be more fashionable…

Saturday, my favorite day, is here! I was thinking about what I should wear all morning..!

I was playing in front of my makeup stand. I put a beauty mark on my cheek and took pictures, very satisfied with myself! Muhaha~ I’m just too charming, ain’t I?

Then there’s the new knit mini-dress – I got it from the Dongdaemun wholesale market! I love that thing so much..♡ The pattern is so pretty! It was made with beautiful green and brown yarn~ so I wore a green heart to match.

Even though I was tired, I had to get up early to go to church.

An ivory mini-dress and a knit bolero top! And a black jacket with a cute ribbon…

I couldn’t take a picture outside. I was busy all day! I never knew that my room would come out so nice in pictures. It really set a certain kind of mood. Very, very satisfied!
My younger sister, the photographer…but I thought my legs came out looking too thick in the first picture, so I better be careful next time! But I really liked my style today. Oh, yeah!

11/1~11/4 까지 Fashion Diary 를 써봤어요~

처음이라서 많이 긴장했어요~다음번엔 더 자연스럽게 써볼께요~^^

That’s my fashion diary, from the 1st to the 4th of November. I was really nervous because this was my first time writing one. But I’ll try harder to write more naturally the next time!

가을에는 역시 스카프가 최고의 패션 아이템이죠. 이번에는 내가 한번도 시도해 본 적 없는 오렌지색 스카프를 구입했어요. 군데군데 노랑색과 파랑색과 회색이 섞여있는 꽤 재밌는 무늬의 스카프에요. 그래서 그런지 어느 색의 옷에나 잘 매치가 되는데, 청바지 등 캐주얼 복장에는 잘 어울리지 않아요. 오피스룩에 제일 잘 어울리고, 차려입고 나가야 할 모임이 있을 때 블라우스나 셔츠위에 둘러주면 근사해 보인답니다.

Fall is the season of the scarf. This time I bought an orange-colored scarf, a color I had not tried before. This scarf has an interesting pattern and arrangement of orange, yellow, gray, and blue colors. I guess this is why this scarf can match with any color of clothing. But it does not look good with casual outfits such as jeans, khakis, or t-shirts (big mistake). It creates the best look with office look and other formal outfits for special occasions in which you have to dress up.

주말에는 불편하게 펜슬스커트를 입을 필요가 없죠. 2007년 9월 29일 토요일의 나의 나들이 패션을 공개해볼게요. 우선, 이 청록색의 셔츠는 그 전 주말에 상하이에서 쇼핑한 아이템. 상하이 푸동에 있는 한 쇼핑몰에서 H&M을 발견했고, 거기서 제일 맘에 드는 것을 take! 가격은 RMB 199 였으니까, 한국 돈으로 약 24,300원! 아주 저렴하죠? 세일하는 것도 아니였는데.

이 셔츠는 wrap shirt로 특이한 스타일이에요. 사진으로는 보이지 않지만, 셔츠 안 쪽에도 고정시키기 위한 끈이 있고, 바깥쪽에는 사진 처럼 한쪽으로 리본을 맬 수 있도록 디자인되어 있어요. 허리를 조금더 단단하게 조여 리본을 매면, 허리가 날씬해 보이는 효과가 있답니다. 셔츠의 전체적인 길이도 짧아서 다리도 더 길어보이는 효과도 있어요. 사진처럼 청바지와 입을 수도 있고, 펜슬스커트와도 잘 어울려요.

다음에 펜슬스커트와 같이 입고 사진을 찍어 올려볼게요. 아무튼, 여러모로 아주 쓸모있는 녀석이네요. 쇼핑할 때, 자신이 현재 가지고 있느 옷들과 얼마나 잘 어울릴 수 있을지, 그리고 나처럼 평소에는 회사 생활을 하는 사람에게는 정장에도 캐주얼에도 모두 잘 어울릴 수 있는지를 생각하고 아이템을 사는 것이 바로 “쇼핑의 지혜“라는 게 저의 생각입니다 ^^

I don’t need to put on a pencil skirt on weekends. Here I present my outfit on September 29, 2007. I bought this blue-green shirt at H&M while visiting Shanghai the previous weekend.

It’s a wrap shirt which you tie a ribbon inside to the right, then wrap it to the left side and tie the ribbon to tighten the waist. The tighter the waist, the thinner you look! Your legs will also look longer with this kind of high-waist top. The good thing about this shirt is that it looks good with jeans as in the picture and also works well with office look because it is semi-formal. I will probably have to take a few pictures of myself on this shirt and my pencil skirts later.

Anyway, the shirt is a very useful one for many different kinds of occasions. I guess it helps you make a wise shopper if you think carefully about what clothes you have in your closet and how well the item in mind will work with your clothes. This is what I call “the wisdom of shopping” and it is how you develop your own style.

안녕? 나는 교성이라고 해. 이제부터 Feet Man Seoul에 패션다이어리를 연재할 사람이야. Feet Man Seoul에서는 서로를 닉네임으로 부른다지? 나는 PencilSkirted로 불러줘. PencilSkirted라는 닉네임은 내가 회사에 출근할 때 즐겨입는 치마의 모양에서 고안해 낸 이름이야. 나는 고려대학교 국제대학원에서 국제통상학 석사학위를 받고, 전공을 살려서 지금은 로펌 안에 있는 think-tank에서 리서치업무를 주로 하고 있어. 주로 내가 다루고 있는 분야는 free trade agreement, 산업정책, 무역정책…내 고객은 주로 한국 정부부처. 듣기만 해도 따분하지. 그래도 난 내 일이 너무 즐거워. 자신이 잘하고 좋아하는 일을 하는 것 보다 즐거운 게 없지. 그래도 가끔 보고서 마감 날짜가 다가오면 두려워~

Hi~ since we go by our nicknames in Feet Man Seoul, please call me “PencilSkirted.” The name comes from the shape of skirt that I enjoy wearing to work. Speaking of which, I should probably tell you what I do for a living. I got my MA from Korea University’s Graduate School of International Studies, and am currently working as a researcher in the think-tank of a law firm. I usually deal with free trade agreements, along with industrial and trade policies. Most of my clients are government bodies. Sounds boring, right? Still, I do enjoy my work. There is nothing better than doing work you’re good at and actually like doing. Yet, I am still afraid of paper deadlines~

There are some people who think I’m a nerdy girl for being a researcher who only writes economic papers, but they have no idea. I’ve always enjoyed writing, and if I had not become a researcher, I would be working as a journalist for a fashion magazine. The next thing that I’m interested in besides economics is fashion. I simply love clothes. Even though I didn’t become a fashion journalist, I would like to share my thoughts on fashion here on our site . The styles that I would like to show you through my fashion diary are mostly office and professional looks, items I buy when I shop, and well as some of the ordinary fashion that someone like me might wear. Rather than trying to cover all kinds of different styles, I will simply focus on showing you my own, since that’s what I know best.
