멀티매거진 for your fashion fetish…
Today, I want to talk about the "Sassy Slap" walk, native only to Korea, which involves equal parts being too bothered to actually properly put on the strap of your slingback heels, and seeming to want to walk with the somewhat rude, somewhat sassy "slap-slap" of the shoes against the soles of the feet.
You'll see the "Sassy Slap" a lot in younger girls wearing cheaper shoes and short skirts. Although one might say there's unusual about it, I doubt any young lady would go "strap-o-sass" to visit an elderly relative or meet one's in-laws for the first time while popping gum, which often goes along with not completely putting on one's shoes. But I must admit that, done right, the strap-o-sass can be kinda hot.
Going along with her "Sassy Slap" is the kind of over-feminine strut that you get with women who really like to wear high heels. It's hard to explain, but it's kind of a step, sway, let-the-weight-settle, repeat; it also involves stepping down deliberately heel-first, enjoying each step in the strut. Usually, this is done with the toes pointed outward; if you've ever hung out with professional dancers, they often walk this way, with the feet out and relaxed. It's not the cutesy gait that goes along with stepping toe-first and walking pigeon-toed that a lot of Japanese women do, along with the high heel uninitiated.

The ladies over at PopSeoul post:
What is the best way to show off your legs besides wearing high-cut briefs? - wear stocking in bright colors paired with micro minis. Kong Hyojin is tripping in her bright orange stockings that scream “look at me.” Choi Ji-woo uses the same tactic with her purple stockings accentuated by her shapeless bag of a dress. And Choi Yeo-jin does a Hyori by forgetting to wear any bottoms with her black stockings.
Who Flops it the Most?
1) Kang Hyo Jin in orange
2) Choi Ji Woo in purple
3) Choi Yeo Jin in black
Well, I'd have to say that the fashionableness seem to be in ascending numerical order. Kang Hyo Jin looks absolutely silly, as her outfit looks like something conceptually pleasing to a designer, not tested fashion on the street. Orange legs are hard to pull off in…Converses?! I know Converses are in style these days, but that doesn't mean they go with orange stockings and an off-pink top.
Choi Ji Woo's kickback to the 7-'s meets hippy look is alright, and the purple could work, but the gold shoes makes me not feel the outfit. Not feeling it. If we're gonna choose a color to match out of those in the top, I don't think gold is the one, nor orange. The purple's wild enough, so I say keep it simple with that one piece of flash and flair: cute cream or neutral flats would have worked for me, and would have kept the look recent. Maaaaaybe. But gold pumps? Naw. That ain't it.
Now, as for Choi Yeo Jin – fabulous, girl! A conservative cut on the top, with more opaque tights on the bottom, with simple, open-toe patents. But the skirt length (or lack thereof!) makes it fresh as hell, and if she were walking by absolutely arresting. The thicker stockings really cover the harsh lines of too-skinny legs, so they just look slim without looking gaunt. I think that's just the stuff.
The FMS pick? #3 – Choi Yeo Jin!
Do these stockings throw this inpromptu model into the realm of "fresh" dress or just plain "foul"? I like her confidence – but do I like her stockings and that bag? Hmm. Do I say, "You go, girl!" or do I say, "Please go, girl!"? Hmmmmmmmmm.
