The shows are off to a great start, and it’s a good crowd this year. One of my favorite shows from the day was that of Kang Dong-joon’s, whose idea this year was men just looking gangsta. And smoking cigars.
Lee Ju-young’s “Resurrection” was also pretty cool in its relative darkness.
I like the leather, but not the fur. Hope that’s not real.
Lookin’ tough!
Also met some people in the line! This guy’s a part of a crew simply called “The Bastards.” Cool name. Cool tats, man.
And we got some everyday looks from friends of our fashion diarist, Ryuji.
Here’s a pair of grays I pulled from the group. Looks nice together, eh?
Ryuji-chan!
And we got even more uniquely Korean looks, too, the kind I like. Puffs and frills and things. You keep working it, girls!

Wow! What an original name!!!
And I guess the close-up at the death-stick was aimed at me, that’s ok…
No, not aimed at anyone — and regarding smoking and fashion, of the thousands of images I’ve taken with folks on the streets, only a handful have involved people smoking. That’s how I found ‘em, so that’s how I shoot ‘em. I wouldn’t ever tell anyone who hadn’t already been smoking to light up, nor would I tell someone taking a long drag from their cig and trying to look cool to put it away. And in terms of the runway show and the cigars — well, that’s the designer’s choice, and that show had decidedly more pizzaz than the others that day. It wasn’t just the cigars — it was the attitude, the swagger, the gangster hats and clothes — and the cigars being smoked with a scowl. I’m not advocating smoking, and I’ve never smoked myself, but one can’t deny that it was part of their look.
But Maximus — none of the content here is directly aimed at you in response to anything — it’s just coincidence that you brought up the smoking as an issue and that show had smoking cigars featured very prominently in it. That’s all.
My last comment was a joke, I know that you don’t do this kind of thing. This was the reason for the smile face.
