   I read that article and I laughed. Several months and millions of won on those dresses? None of the coloured dresses flatter their colouring, Kim Yun-Jin is falling out and Park Shi Yeon just looks FAT in that dress instead of showing off boobies. Like if you have boobies like hers, why would you flatten and SEPARATE them? Fancy clothes in Korea seem like a total mystery based on what I’ve seen of stars. I don’t know how “normal” people dress up for fancy gear, but it always feels a bit off to me. I’ve also noticed an inability to dress anything but the stick thin body type but I hope that will change one day. Do they really alter the dresses for the stars? Many of the dresses seem too long or cut for someone with shorter torsos and longer legs, i.e. a more Western body type.

   I’m not wild about several of the dresses myself, but I have to say: there’s no way on God’s green earth that any of those ladies could possibly look fat, even if you dressed them in lard and crisco. I think Kim Yu-Shin looks FABULOUS in that dress, and that the trim on the hips makes her look curvy (even if the trim on the top half is a little 반짝반짝 for my taste . . .)I agree that Park’s dress is not doing her upper half many favors, but that may be the angle and her pose . . . it would be better though without the excessive fabric and decor at the shoulders, perhaps? The purple dress is probably cut the most for what Jazzler is thinking of for an “Asian” rather than “western” figure, but I think it’s actually the worst dress of the three. The other dresses all give some shape, but I think that one is just a little out of date and dull. Not so wild about the sparkles on the pink, but I think the shape and cut are really, really flattering! And I LOVE the blue-green dress.
   Overall, except for Park’s and the purple monstrosity on the end, I like the cut of all of these, and I’m really, really incredibly happy beyond words to see some colors showing up in the formal wear (the “little white dress” that kept showing up this year got old fast). And I think the colors actually do a great deal for these ladies! Let’s hear it for color!

   Actually, the purple dress is totally fug, cut, colour, everything. I’d fire the stylist that thought the dress was a good idea. The blue-green dress isn’t bad. The colour is actually quite nice but I can’t tell about the cut in this picture. Frankly, looking at this picture, it looks too big on her though. Kim Yun-jin’s hips are nice but she does NOT have the boobs to pull them off. Park Shi Yeon’s dress smooshes her boobs to make her look fat and top heavy, which is totally wrong because she is not fat.

   That’s actually what bothers me. None of these dresses FIT their body types at all. Or fit for that matter. A lot of these dresses require boobs which most Korean women don’t have. Remember Gwenyth Paltrow and that pink montroisity in the 90s? It was sleeveless and Calvin Klein I think. She got RIPPED for being too flat to fill it out, and I feel the same way. If they are spending all this money on these dresses, they should FIT. This courting of Korean stars must surely be a more recent thing and really only a select few cos even plenty of Western stars rarely get fitted, hence too long skirts on the red carpet. So I take this news article with a grain of salt.

   1) I think most of those dresses are fuggs.
   2) When will the photo editors learn that you shouldn’t CROP OFF PARTS OF THE DRESSES in a story about, umm, dresses?

   kim yun-jin and park shi-yeon look like they raided joan collins’ closet and the rest of the gals like as though they’re dressed up to go to the prom.

   maybe they need more than a month to start the styling process because it seems like the tailor didn’t have enough time to finish the final fitting.

   i don’t think it’s a matter of the actresses not havin the boobs to fill out the dresses. a lot of runway models are flat but the key is to make the outfit FIT.

   i think the korean red carpet fashion is beginning to be ridiculous. i mean hello people this is not hollywood
   and honestly i don’t think any korean stars are able to actually manage that kind of dress.
   And another thing please cover urself a little bit more people!
