멀티매거진 for your fashion fetish…
Lately, the camera has changed from a mere tool to capture moments on film, but as it becomes more and more a part of the daily lives of girls who are taking pictures of themselves, their friends, and their food for Cyworld pages and personal blogs, it has become a veritable fashion accessory.

And nowadays, since the digital SLR has become affordable enough that anyone with a few hundred dollars can have one – and as companies such as Canon are actively marketing them more compact and cuter for women in Asia. For example, the American “Digital Rebel XT” was marketed in Europe and many other countries as the EOS 350d, and in Japan the “Kiss Digital N.”
This is to the point that many male shooters complain about the shrinking size of low-end SLR’s – but they have to be items that are much easier to carry around all day, especially if you’re a woman who will either put it in a purse or hang it around your neck. Women have a lot more to take pictures of these days, the old point-and-shoot cameras won’t cut it anymore, and fashionable Japanese or Korean women aren’t going to carry a Lowepro™ camera bag around with them all day long. Hence, the smaller the better.

But now everyone and their kitty has one of these, so actually carrying an old film body and getting into the nostalgic romance of actually winding each shot oneself, just like in the movies – this becomes an act of retro cool. If you walk through Samcheong-dong, Hongdae, or even Shinchon on a busy weekend, you will see all kinds of older cameras now being put to “retro” use. Wow. Now, I really feel old.

There’s another perfectly valid reason for women to prefer smaller camera bodies: on the whole women have smaller hands. I have no problem hoisting a heavier camera, having a comfortable grip AND still reaching the shutter button or whatever else I need to use can be a pain when the camera is intended to rest in a man’s meaty paw.
And while we’re on the topic, why are camera bags so darned ugly? There’s plenty of fashionable big bags, and plenty of big camera bags, so why can’t they make a bag a serious photographer could use without looking like they have an infatuation with velcro and plastic quick-release buckles?
Have to agree - camera bags are ugly as sin, from a fashion pespective. Thanksfully, a Canon EOS 400d is pretty small by SLR standards. What with the big bag trend of late, that’s just one of many things that can fit in a women’s bag. Now that we’re going back to clutches, though…
yeah, but did you see the size of some of those clutches?^^ heck, I could have fit a darkroom in some of those bags . . .
As a engineer..I can say….
to have variety collection, should be big consumer demand…still there are few women who want cute small camera bag…
So…we should make market first…
then…many company would compete with small cute pretty camera bag…they will…like cellphones..
Anyway…finally….I got DSLR ^^/
I’ll try that style in next year in korea…
now………I can’t………..T.T…..
Damn it! I’m in gloomy freezer, Russian winter!!!
