김정은은 컬렉션 참석자들과 현지 언론으로부터 뜨거운 관심을 받았으며 “한국에서 온 아름다운 여인“으로 불리웠다.

김정은은 컬렉션 직후 백스테이지에서 디자이너 안토니오 마라스와 만남을 가졌으며 컬렉션을 본 소감과 아름다운 의상에 대해 이야기를 나눴다.

멋진 거죠? 요즘에 한국연예인들이 국제패션한테 많은 관심을 가지고 있는 것같아요. 사실 어쩔 수 없이 그래야 되는 거예요. 옛날처럼 일반 한국인들이 한국 연예인들을 뭘 입고 다니는지 신경을 썼을 시대 거의 끝났고 이젠 인터넷 때문에 뉴욕, 밀란노, 런던, 파리에서 유행하는 패션이 한국까지 오는 게 2-3년 걸리는 거아니잖아요. 그래서 요즘에 한국 스타들이 국제패션을 관심이 가져야 하고 그리고 그런 관심이 가지고 있는 척도 해야 되는 것같네요.

Looking good, right? Korean stars these days are on the move and apparently more interested in international fashion, since now they sort of have to be. Gone are the days of around 15 years ago when everyday Koreans just copied what Korean stars were wearing; nowadays, with the Internet, Korean netizens are getting design and everyday fashion ideas direct from around the world.

Since what’s ready-to-wear in London, Milan, New York, and Paris doesn’t take 2-3 years to reach Korea anymore, nor is it filtered so strongly by Korean designers adapting and homogenizing the looks, what’s hot overseas is much more important these days. And Korean stars seem to be trying hard to not only keep up, but LOOK LIKE they’re keeping up to their fan base at home.
