우리 “길거리 스타일” 컬럼은 개인의 패션 선택만 벤치마킁하는 것아니라, 찰라리 대표적인 길거리에서 보일 수 있는 패션 장르를 잡으려고 해요.

“Street Styles” tracks not just individual fashion choices, but tries to capture fashion that is representative of types of fashion genres visible on the Korean streets.

이 커플은 완전히 “퍼펙트 커플“아닌가요? 너무 서로 빠져 있어서 부러워하네요. 이 대표적인 “강북 스타일“은 귀여우며 캐쥬얼인 것같아요. 미국인입장에서는 이 언니는 좀 정장한 편인데 한국에서는 여성들이 기본적으로 패션/옷/화장품에 신경 더 쓰는 편이라서 한국인의 입장에서는 좀 일상적인 옷이죠. 아무래도 한국에서는 남자들이 좀 더 캐쥬얼하게 입고 나오는 것같아요. 또 다른 example이 여기예요.

This young couple seems the epitome of “the perfect couple” in that they are so doting and starry-eyed for each other. Also, their casual Seoul fashion is very typical of the “north of the river” style that is both cutesy and casual. Note that, according to American eyes, men are often more casual than women, for whom this look is somewhat more than casual, but less than “dress.” There’s another example of this here.

Notice that the girlish look is accented by lots of ribbons and bows, which is a staple item of Korean women’s fashion in recent days.

And I quite like her purse, which seems to match the cute yet casual style she’s going for.
